Jackie Forrest

Executive Director, ARC Energy Research Institute

Jackie actively monitors emerging strategic trends related to energy. She is an author and sought after public speaker with 25 years of experience in the energy industry. She is the co-host of the ARC Energy Ideas podcast, a weekly show that explains the latest trends and news in Canadian energy and beyond.

Jackie is a member of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Renewable Energy Association (CanREA). She is a former board member of Longshore Resources Ltd. and the Explorers and Producers Association of Canada (EPAC).

Prior to joining ARC, she was the leader of North American crude oil research for IHS CERA. Jackie has published 20 public papers on energy issues. She has co-hosted over 100 podcasts and written numerous columns, spanning all energy systems from oil and gas to clean energy, including electric vehicles, renewable power, carbon capture and biofuels.

Jackie was the recipient of the 2018 Schulich School of Engineering Environment and Sustainability Alumni Award, recognizing her contribution to a significant body of knowledge that has helped to increase the understanding of the connection between energy and environment. She is currently a member of the Schulich Industry Advisory Council (SIAC), the group provides input to the engineering school to help to ensure that programs and initiatives align with industry needs.

Jackie attended the University of Calgary where she received an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering. She also has an MBA from Queens University.

Ian Jack

Vice-President, Public Affairs, Canadian Automobile Association (CAA)

Ian Jack directs the national public education and government relations activities for the Canadian Automobile Association, now in its second century as an advocate for the transportation interests of the public. Under Ian’s direction, CAA has won two global road safety campaign of the year awards, and has steadily advanced the interests of it members and the general public in road safety, the environment, consumer rights, mobility and infrastructure.

He also serves on the policy commission of the Fédération internationale de l’automobile (FIA), and the issues sub-committee of the American Automobile Association (AAA).

He is a public affairs strategist with extensive knowledge of advocacy and communications gained through 30 years in national journalism and public service roles, including as Deputy Commissioner of Public Affairs for the Competition Bureau of Canada, Director of Communications to a federal Industry Minister, and as a reporter and editor for the Financial Post and Canadian Press.

President, Canadians for Affordable Energy

An 18 year veteran of the House of Commons, Dan is widely known in both official languages for his tireless work on energy pricing and saving Canadians money through accurate price forecasts. His Parliamentary initiatives, aimed at helping Canadians cope with affordable energy costs, led to providing Canadians heating fuel rebates on at least two occasions.

Widely sought for his extensive work and knowledge in energy pricing, Dan continues to provide valuable insights to North American media and policy makers. He brings three decades of experience and proven efforts on behalf of consumers in both the private and public spheres. Dan is committed to improving energy affordability for Canadians and promoting the benefits we all share in having a strong and robust energy sector.

Jennifer is the President and CEO of the Canadian Energy Marketers Association (CEMA). She is a proven leader in her field, having twice been named one of the ‘Top 25 Influencers’ by Ottawa Life
Magazine, is a Forty under 40 recipient, and a finalist for Ottawa’s Businesswoman of the Year.

Jennifer is also a leader in the energy sector, having co-founded the Canadian Transportation Alliance and led the creation and development of many advocacy campaigns and initiatives for CEMA.
